Over 14 Years of Material Knowledge

Marieke's journey started at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, where she studied Fine Arts and Material Science. What began as an academic interest became a genuine passion for connecting artists with the right tools and materials.

After 8 years working for a specialized art materials distributor in Amsterdam, she moved to Eindhoven in 2015 with a clear mission: help hobbyists discover quality supplies and the techniques to use them properly. She's since conducted over 120 workshops on painting, sustainable materials, and DIY projects across the region.

What drives Marieke is simple. She believes that proper materials and solid guidance transform casual hobbies into meaningful artistic practice. Whether you're picking up a brush for the first time or refining your knitting technique, you'll find practical advice grounded in real experience — not just theory.

Today, she's a recognized voice in the Dutch hobbyist art community, combining technical expertise with genuine accessibility. At onkoud B.V., she helps people in Eindhoven navigate everything from watercolor painting to textile arts with confidence.
